Southern Energy Training Consortium (SETC)
Announcement: The SETC partnership is no longer taking new participants, the grant will end January 16, 2012 (case management and employment placement following – May 2012).
The Southern Energy Training Consortium (SETC) is a partnership formed by the Memphis Bioworks Foundation between four regional community colleges and the Department of Labor to provide training and tuition assistance for participants interested in green jobs.
Through collaboration among energy efficiency and renewable energy employers in both existing and emerging industries, the SETC will train and teach workers the skills required for emerging energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors to prepare workers for successful careers in the green economy.
The industries the SETC will prepare you for include:
- The energy–efficient building, construction, and retrofit industries
- The biofuels industry and other biobased product processing industries
- The energy-efficiency assessment industry (serving residential, commercial, and industrial sectors)
Students who successfully complete an SETC program will also qualify for job placement assistance! Financial aid and tuition assistance are available for most programs.
