The landscape and horticulture industry and Southwest are unifying efforts to promote a high level of competence in the landscape and turfgrass industry. Southwest offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Landscape Turfgrass Management, a Technical Certificate in Landscape Management, and a Technical Certificate in Turfgrass Management. Students may enroll in these courses as non-degree seeking.
This program provides students the knowledge and skills needed for those interested in careers in the landscape and turfgrass management. The two program concentrations are Landscape Management which prepares students for management level positions with landscape maintenance and installation companies and horticulture supervisory positions in public and private institutions; and Turfgrass Management which prepares students for management level positions in the lawn care industry, golf courses, or parks and recreation complexes.
This program strengthens students’ knowledge of professional landscape techniques and prepares them for EPA restricted use pesticide certification. Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible for entry-level employment in landscape management, landscape and irrigation installation, lawn maintenance, chemical application.

This program provides students the knowledge for the management, installation, and renovation of turfgrass areas. The program covers turfgrass management, soils, irrigation, ornamental plant materials, and EPA core certification preparation. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible for entry-level employment with a lawn care management company, golf course, park department, or sports facility.
