About the Campus Child Care Centers

The Campus Child Care Centers are designed to provide multicultural experiences in an open-space setting. The open-space concept embraces all areas in the child's environment created by these centers.

The staff nurtures the child's sense of independence and encourages children to explore and make choices. The open-education concept is based on the belief that children:

  • Learn and grow at different rates,
  • Are eager and curious about learning and
  • Learn best when they are able to pursue their interests.

The open classroom integrates the total curriculum, rather than focusing on separate subject matter. Academic reading skills, writing, and number concepts are part of all learning.

Childcare

Play is important and encourages children to explore, manipulate and construct. The Center's classroom space encourages this by setting up learning centers throughout the room where each child may decide how and with whom they spend their time.
