The
Communications and Marketing Department is Southwest’s voice in the community
and within the College. News releases; The Southwest Scoop, an online
newsletter; Southwest Now Magazine; electronic messaging center; web sites; Southwest Now, a magazine
style TV show, and publications enable the Department to reach students,
supporters and the community; and to promote programs, services and
opportunities that enhance individual lives and the communities in which they
live and work. The Department publicizes the successes and accomplishments of
Southwest students, faculty and staff.
Communications and Marketing supports the College and its
mission with strategic Communications and Marketing, advertising, photography,
copywriting, and creative and printing/duplicating services. The department
produces all major College publications, including the catalog, viewbook,
semester credit and non-credit course schedules, the student handbook and
athletics along with a wide variety of other publications including brochures,
pamphlets, videos and multimedia presentations as requested.
The College public web site is created and maintained through Communications and
Marketing. The Webmaster’s Office has been honored with numerous national awards
for the College’s public web site. The Webmaster’s Office also produces and
maintains web sites for the Web for Students, student newspaper, athletics and
the Alpha Beta Gamma organization which have also been honored with national
awards.
Communications and Marketing continually strives for a highly electronic, print
and multimedia profile that reaches potential and current students, supporters
and the community on a local, regional and national level.
