The department of Industrial, Environmental, and Graphic Arts Technology is partnering with Memphis Heritage to create an awareness campaign for a selected number of historic neighborhoods in Memphis.

Memphis Heritage is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization based in Memphis, Tennessee. The organization is lead by June West, Executive Director and lover of Memphis Heritage. The organization strives to preserve the rich heritage of Memphis landmarks and other Memphis culture.

The project will involve our senior level graphic arts technology majors currently enrolled in GART2099-Portfolio Practicum. Each student has been assigned a particular historic district in Memphis to complete a full-scale marketing campaign. The projects will consist of outdoor advertisements, promotional items, identity and branding for the historic district, web interface, signage, and print collateral.

The works will be on display at Memphis Heritage, 2282 Madison Ave, on May 6 from 4 to 7 p.m., for this year's Portfolio Review and Showcase.

For more information about the exhibit please contact, Jerry Redmond at (901) 230-5903 or jredmond@southwest.tn.edu.
