Southwest Adds More Fast-Track Computer Courses for Fall

The Computer Resource Center at Southwest Tennessee Community College is breaking new ground with its new course offerings. Students can now take one-day MOUS preparation classes for certification in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The new courses come just in time for the College’s fall semester registration, slated for August 22 and 23.

Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) classes prepare individuals for certification in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products. MOUS certification provides a recognized credential that assures employers of real-world skills necessary to be productive in today’s competitive workplace.

Additional new day classes include Macintosh Digital Media Center, Digital Video with iMovie; Final Cut Pro, A+ Fundamentals and PowerPoint Sales Presentations.

A two-day Microsoft Access class is also scheduled, as are night seminars in several of the ever-popular Adobe graphics production courses, such as PhotoShop, PhotoShop Print Production, PhotoShop Elements, Scanning and Digital Imagery, PageMaker and Illustrator, along with Quark Xpress.

The Computer Resource Center (CRC) offers a comprehensive variety of computer applications seminars. These seminars, which award Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.s) and Continuing Professional Education Units (C.P.E.s), are available to the general public or can be customized to meet individual business needs and delivered on a contract basis. All seminars are instructor-led, provide one computer per student, and emphasize a hands-on learning experience. The CRC, located on the College’s Macon Cove campus, offers new courses starting every few weeks, as well as classes scheduled on a semester basis.

Early fall registration is currently under way at Southwest, with official registration August 22-23. Students can register at any campus or center for classes at the following Southwest locations:
