NOLEN LEADS SALUQIS PAST 17th-RANKED JACKSON STATE
Londrick Nolen scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed nine rebounds to
lead the Southwest men's basketball team to a 85-77 win over 17th-ranked
Jackson State on Thursday night at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
Down one at halftime 38-37, the Saluqis outscored Jackson State 48-39
after the break, led by the hot shooting of Nolen and Randy Young, who
scored eight of his ten points in the second half. Kenneth Bohanna had
his third outstanding game in a row with 14 points and eight rebounds, and
Jerry Dover added 12 points, four assists, and four steals.
The win improved the
Saluqis record to 7-9 overall and 5-5 in the Tennessee Junior and
Community College Athletic Association
In the women's game, Tiffany Webb scored 20 points to go along with 10
rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Lady Saluqis to a 87-75
victory. Also scoring in double figures for Southwest were Kaia
Richardson with 19 points and Latoyia Hill with 14 points. The Lady
Saluqis improved their record to 9-8 overall and 5-5 in the TJCCAA.
