FINNEY SIGNS WITH SOUTHWEST BASEBALL TEAM
Southwest Tennessee Community College is pleased to announce the signing
of Jeremy Finney to a National Letter of Intent. This spring, the
Christian Brothers High School graduate hit .457 with 64 hits, 62 runs, 18
doubles, 28 runs batted in and 33 stolen bases. Finney is a two-time
member of The Commercial Appeal’s All-Metro Team and was a finalist for
the Best of the Preps Player of the Year in 2004. As a senior, he led
Christian Brothers to a 35-9 record and a runner-up finish in the Division
2 State Tournament.
"Jeremy is an outstanding talent who brings more to the game than athletic
ability,” said Southwest head coach Johnny Ray. “He is a proven leader and
winner and we are fortunate to have him in our program."
His junior year, Finney was named to the Division 2 All-State Team by the
Tennessee Sports Writers Association. In addition, he was a member of the
2003 Junior Sun Belt Team and was the Most Valuable Player of the 2003
National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series.
