SOUTHWEST BASKETBALL TEAMS HOST CARL ALBERT AND KENNEDY-KING IN
REGULAR SEASON HOME OPENER

The Southwest basketball teams will play a women’s and men’s
doubleheader on Saturday, November 6 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium in
the regular season home opener for both teams. The Lady Saluqis will
take on Carl Albert State College at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game
against Kennedy-King College at 7:30 p.m.
On Monday night, Southwest opened the 2004-2005 season in Clarksdale,
Mississippi with a sweep of Coahoma Community College. Sophomore forward
Ashley Mason scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Lady
Saluqis to a 72-59 victory, while freshman forward Imesia Jackson also
recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in only 18
minutes of play. In the men’s game, sophomore forward Chris Prince
scored 19 points and freshman guard Lester Hudson added 15 points and 13
rebounds to lead the Saluqi men to a 92-68 win.
Southwest will continue a four-game home stand next week with games
against Northwest Mississippi on Tuesday, November 9, Roane State on
Friday, November 12, and Walters State on Saturday, November 13.
