SOUTHWEST HOSTS LADY SALUQIS CLASSIC

The Southwest women’s basketball team will host the Fifth Annual Lady
Saluqis Classic on December 28-29 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium. In
addition to Southwest, the Classic will feature Georgia Perimeter
College, Kennedy-King College, and Three Rivers Community College.
Georgia Perimeter and Three Rivers will tangle in the opener at 4 p.m.
on Thursday, December 28 while Southwest will play Kennedy-King in the
second game at 6 p.m. On Friday, December 29, Kennedy-King and Three
Rivers will tip-off at 4 p.m. followed by Southwest vs. Georgia
Perimeter at 6 p.m.
Southwest, coached by Andrea Martre, are currently 7-6 overall and 6-5
in the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association. The
Lady Saluqis are coming off consecutive road wins over Hiwassee and
Cleveland State. Leading the team in scoring is sophomore forward Imesia
Jackson, who is averaging 17.2 points per game and is also the top
rebounder in the entire conference at 11.6 per game.
