SALUQIS BASEBALL TEAM SIGNS CORDOVA’S GIBSON

Southwest Head Baseball Coach Johnny Ray has announced the signing of Cordova High School’s Philip Gibson. “Philip is a very solid and versatile player who has tremendous potential,” said Ray. “We are very fortunate he has chosen Southwest to further his baseball and academic career. Phllip is a first class young man who will fit into our program.”

As a junior, Gibson batted .316 with 12 doubles, one home run, and 32 runs batted in while playing in all 40 games for Cordova. His sophomore season, Gibson batted .344 with four doubles, two triples, and 18 RBI, and was named to the “Super Soph Team” by the Tennessee Baseball Report.
