Southwest men’s basketball coach Verties Sails, Jr. has announced the signing of Christopher Evans, a 6’7” post player from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Evans averaged 22 points and 14.5 rebounds as a senior and was named to the all-district and all-state teams. As a sophomore, he played on Dunbar’s 2003 State Championship team. Evans was coached by the legendary Robert Hughes, who will retire this season after winning 1,333 games in his career – a United States high school record.
