WALKER SIGNS WITH SOUTHWEST
Release written by Keith Gentry
Seth Walker, a pitcher-outfielder from Christian Brothers High School,
has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and
baseball career at Southwest.
“Seth is a huge addition to our recruiting class,” said Southwest Head
Baseball Coach Johnny Ray. “He is a run producer offensively and an
above average outfielder. He will also possibly help us on the mound.”
Walker played for Coach Buster Kelso at CBHS and led the Purple Wave to
a 40-3 record, a top ten national ranking, and third-place finish in the
2006 TSSAA Division 2 State Tournament. Walker batted .446 his senior
season with 13 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs, 47 runs batted in and
compiled a 3-0 pitching record with a 1.00 earned run average. He was
named to The Commercial Appeal’s Best of the Preps team and made the
all-tournament team at the USA Classic.
