SOUTHWEST TO HOST MEMPHIS CITY SCHOOLS COACHES MEETING AND CLINIC

On Thursday, September 14, Southwest’s Union Avenue Campus will be the site of this year’s Memphis Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball coaches meeting. Boys and girls coaches from approximately 60 Memphis city middle, junior high, and high schools are invited to attend.

The 3:30 p.m. meeting will be followed by a Coaches Clinic from 6-8 p.m. at the Verties Sails Gymnasium. The clinic will be hosted by Southwest basketball coaching staff and will also include coaches from other Memphis area colleges and universities.

“We’re very anxious to have coaches from the entire city of Memphis on our campus to view our facilities and see what we do in our basketball program,” said Southwest Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Verties Sails, Jr. “We’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate individual and team strategies that have enabled us to be very successful.”
