REYNOLDS NAMED NEW SOUTHWEST BASEBALL COACH
Release written by Keith Gentry
Alan “Bo” Reynolds has been named the new head baseball coach at
Southwest, Athletic Director Verties Sails announced today. Reynolds
comes to Southwest from Olive Branch High School, where he was head
baseball coach in 2005-2006 after serving as an assistant coach from
2003-2005.
”I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with talented
student-athletes at Southwest,” said Reynolds. “It’s where I started my
college career before moving on to a four-year university. I hope to
help other student-athletes reach the next level and fulfill their
educational and athletic goals.”
Reynolds previously coached at Rhodes College (1990-2003), where he was
both an assistant coach and head coach and the University of Memphis
(1987-1990), where he was an assistant under Head Coach Bobby
Kilpatrick. In addition, he coached Dulin’s Sports Academy’s 17 and
under team and helped guide them to the Amateur Athletic Union and
National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series championships. In his
career, Reynolds has coached 42 current or former college baseball
players and 12 current or former professionals. He played his college
baseball at Shelby State Community College from 1978-1980 and also the
University of Tennessee at Martin from 1980-1982.
“Coach Reynolds is very enthusiastic and we feel he will not only
continue the tradition we have at Southwest but take our baseball
program to the next level,” said Southwest Athletic Director Verties
Sails, Jr.
