SOUTHWEST WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM RANKED 18th

The Southwest women’s basketball team, now 16-1 on the season, enters
the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 1 poll this
week with a number 18 ranking.
The Lady Saluqis, under the direction of Coach Andrea Martre, are led by
sophomore guard Ashley Shields, who leads the team in nearly every
offensive category and is nationally-ranked in scoring (27.1),
rebounding (10.9), assists (6.5) and steals (4.5). Other top scorers
this season for the Lady Saluqis are sophomore guard Tameka Wooten (8.0
points, 2.3 assists), freshman center Keona Brooks (7.0 points, 4.5
rebounds), sophomore guard Jasmine Massey (7.6 points), sophomore
forward Brittany Smith (6.1 points, 5.5 rebounds), and sophomore guard
Gina High (5.1 points, 3.1 assists).
