For Immediate Release Four Southwest baseball players have been selected to the 2008 Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association All-Conference team including one Saluqi who was voted first team. Leftfielder and leadoff hitter Billy Ray Todd was the Saluqis' lone first team pick. Todd, a sophomore from Bartlett High School, led the team with a .374 batting average, 64 hits, 16 doubles, and a .452 on-base average. Rightfielder Corey Rudolph and designated hitter Chris Coleman garnered second team accolades. Rudolph, a sophomore from Bartlett High School, batted .320 and led the Saluqis with 40 runs scored, five triples, 23 walks, and 16 stolen bases. Coleman, a freshman from Germantown, batted .349 and led the team with 11 home runs, 46 runs batted in, and a .691 slugging average. Sophomore third baseman Devin Hicks, also from Bartlett High School, was named to the third team. Hicks batted .323 and was among team leaders with 12 doubles, 10 home runs, 39 runs batted in, and a .639 slugging average. |
