Tennessee Legislative Delegation Leaders Accept Invitation to Discuss Economic Stimulus Package at Southwest

Southwest Tennessee Community College is hosting a breakfast meeting with leading members of the Tennessee House of Representatives on February 20 to discuss the economic stimulus package and the potential benefits for the Memphis and Shelby County area. The legislators will also seek input from Southwest and other local college students regarding issues related to education and healthcare.

The breakfast meeting, to be held at Southwest's Union Avenue Campus in Parrish 100, will begin at 7:30 a. m. House Speaker Kent Williams, Democratic Leader Gary Odom, House Democratic Caucus Leader Mike Turner, and members of the Shelby County Delegation are expected to attend. Other local colleges and universities are also being invited to participate.
