Southwest Menís Basketball Team Enters NJCAA Poll

The Southwest Menís Basketball Team enters the national rankings for the first time this season with its Number 22 ranking in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Top 25 Poll released this week.

The Saluqis are off to a 10-1 start this season and are coming off a 124-74 win over Shorter on January 13. They are led by sophomores Jeremy Williams (16.8 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game), Reginald Owens (14.5 points, 7.0 rebounds), Myron Strong (12.5 points, 3.5 assists), DeAngelo Riley (11.6 points, 7.3 rebounds), Jeremy Rodgers (9.5 points, 6.1 rebounds), and Josh Watson (6.5 points, 3.0 assists).

Their next game will be against Arkansas Baptist College on January 15 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Saluqis will return home to play Genesis One Prep on January 17 at 7 p.m. at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
