For Immediate Release Coming off a 114-68 homecoming win over Jackson State on January 24, the Southwest Men’s Basketball Team leaped nine spots to number 12 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 Poll. The Saluqis are currently 15-1 and are winners of 14 consecutive games. As a team, Southwest is averaging 97.8 points per game which ranks fifth in the NJCAA and also ranks 12th in field goal percentage at 50.9 percent. Five sophomores are averaging at least ten points per game: Jeremy Williams (16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds), Myron Strong (14.8 points, 3.2 assists), Reginald Owens (13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds), DeAngelo Riley (11.5 points, 7.8 rebounds), and Jeremy Rodgers (10.4 points, 7.3 rebounds).
