Financial Aid - Scholarship and Criteria

Baptist Memorial Hospital Paralegal Scholars Scholarship

One scholarship is available for the academic year. Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in the Paralegal Studies Program, with an interest in Health Care Law.

Criteria:

  1. Declared major in Paralegal Studies Program  
  2. Minimum GPA of 2.8 (3.0 preferred) must be maintained during scholarship period  
  3. Scholarship will be renewed if criterion #2 is met  
  4. Must be a full-time student; *part-time student may apply  
  5. Commitment to attend classes regularly and work with sponsor twenty (20) hours per week  
  6. Student must submit a paper describing why they have an interest in Health Care Law  
  7. Recipient must reapply after initial academic year  

*Note: Part-time student selection will be at the discretion of the sponsor.
*Two-year maximum

Procedure: Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.

Selection Process: Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee narrows the field of applicants to three candidates, whose applications and supporting documents are forwarded to sponsor for selection of recipient.
