Financial Aid - Scholarship and Criteria

Technical Scholars Program

Scholarships are available to students who are active in the College’s Cooperative Education Program. Companies and organizations that provide part-time employment and academic scholarships for an academic year sponsor this program. Recipients may work on campus.

Criteria:

  1. Meet admissions requirements for enrolling in a degree program*  
  2. Qualify for all first-semester courses in chosen degree program (new students); current students must have completed no more than 16 hours toward his/her degree program  
  3. Commit to attend classes 20 hours per week and work for sponsor 20 hours per week until completion of program  
  4. Commit to remain with original sponsor until completion of program  
  5. Maintain GPA as outlined in Technical Scholars Program policies and  sponsor’s policies  
  6. Must be enrolled in a degree program for which sponsors are available

Procedure: Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.
Applications are forwarded to the Technical Education Program Office.

Selection Process: Technical Scholars Program Sponsor

*NOTE: Applicants who place in one or more developmental courses will be considered for an interview once these courses have been satisfactorily completed and the student is determined eligible for all degree-bound courses.
