Financial Aid - Scholarship and Criteria

James H. Lanos, Sr. Student Scholarship Fund

One scholarship is available for tuition/fees and books for the academic year. Scholarship is renewable for the second academic year, provided a 2.8 GPA is maintained each semester.

Criteria:

Must be an African-American male student
Entering freshman or currently enrolled student
Full-time or part-time student enrolled for a minimum of nine (9) semester hours per term
Must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student

Procedure: Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.

Selection Process: Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee narrows field to three (3) candidates, whose applications and supporting documentations are forwarded to the sponsor for selection of recipient.
