Financial Aid - Scholarship and Criteria

Presidential Scholarship

One full-time scholarship is available for the academic year. Scholarship is renewable provided a 3.5 GPA is maintained. Part-time students may apply for scholarship; however, the amount is decreased.

Criteria:

Entering freshman
3.5 GPA
Full- or part-time student
Any degree program
Attained leadership positions in high school, i.e., officer in the student government association or in clubs or organizations; edited the yearbook, newspaper or other comparable publication. Renewable after one year provided the student attained leadership positions at Southwest as verified by the Dean of Student Activities.

Reference: A letter of recommendation from the high school principal or counselor verifying student's achievements.

Procedure: Submit application to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.
