Application for Graduation

If you plan on graduating during the 2011-2012 year, remember to submit the Application for Graduation before the deadline. Completed Applications for Graduation must be submitted to the Admissions and Records office at the Macon Cove or Union Avenue campus by the deadline.

Graduation Checklist

  1. Degree and Certificate Graduation requirements
  2. Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor to obtain and complete the Application for Graduation. The Application for Graduation must be initiated with your academic advisor.
  3. Verify that the major stated on your Application for Graduation is the same as your declared major of record in the office of Admissions and Records.
  4. Complete the GRAD Course Substitution form. If a substitution is recommended, it will be initiated with your academic advisor.
  5. Complete a Request for Residency Waiver. A waiver of residency is needed if you have not completed the last 21 credit hours of required courses at Southwest Tennessee Community College. The Request for Residency Waiver must be initiated with your academic advisor.
  6. Obtain a signature from Career Services on the Application for Graduation.
  7. Schedule the Major Field Examination (required for Associate of Applied Science students) with the Testing Center. Office Administration majors are required to take the Office Proficiency Assessment and Certification (OPAC) test.
  8. Schedule the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Proficiency Profile with the Testing Center.

Note: There is no major field exit exam for University Parallel Associate of Arts (A.A.) and University Parallel Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees. The major field examination applies only to students graduating with an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)

  1. Pay the $25 application fee in the Cashier's Office at the Macon Cove or Union Avenue campus.

Note: Failure to complete any or all of the requirements stated above will delay the posting of your degree.
