Bibliographic Instruction Policy

The emergence of information and technological advancement has increased the need for bibliographic instruction sessions to educate students about library services and resources.  The role of bibliographic instruction is not only to provide students with specific skills needed to complete assignments, but to prepare individuals to make effective life-long use of information sources and systems. It also provides working knowledge to become skilled in research techniques. Instruction is offered to all classes or groups as requested. Librarians work with faculty to tailor bibliographic instruction to specific needs.

Scheduling must be made one week in advance. A bibliographic instruction form must also be completed. The instruction coordinator will call faculty members if there are scheduling conflicts. The bibliographic instructor will not be responsible for roll taking. If students are late the bibliographic instructor(s) will reschedule another time for the instruction.
