The Southwest Tennessee Community College Libraries may provide age appropriate materials to meet informational, educational, and recreational needs and interests of children, in addition to Internet access. Access to the Internet is compatible with the library's endorsement of the Library Bill of Rights, the Freedom to Read, and the Freedom to View documents. Supervision or restriction of children's access to the Internet remains the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians.
Community borrowing privileges (library cards) will be extended to children with the written permission from their parents or legal guardians.
Children under age six must be directly supervised in the library by an adult. Children from age six through twelve who visit the library accompanied by an adult may fully use the library's collection and online resources. Children should observe all library policies.
Parents or caregivers will be held responsible for their children's behavior or any damage incurred by them in the library. Parents or caregivers of children whose behavior is inappropriate or disruptive may be asked to remove their children from the library.
Campus Police will be notified when minors are left unattended at closing.
