Circulation Policy
Southwest Tennessee Community College InfoNet Center is composed of the Bert Bornblum Library, Gill Center Library, Maxine A. Smith Center Library, Parrish Library, and Whitehaven Center Library.
In an effort to communicate the circulation policy to the college community, and to others, extracts of this policy are printed in various publications.
Availability of Material:
Material is available for use in the libraries and for borrowing from the Library. Reference and Reserve materials are restricted for use in the library.
Eligibility and Identification:
All borrowers must present a current, school identification card or Community Borrowers' card to check materials out. Students, faculty, and staff from the schools or organizations listed below are eligible to borrow materials:
- Christian Brothers University
- Crichton College
- Lemoyne-Owen College
- Memphis Theological Seminary
- Mid-American Baptist Theological Seminary
- Middle College High School
- University of Memphis
Borrowers' Responsibilities:
- Borrowers must comply with the Circulation Policy.
- Borrowers are responsible for returning materials by the due date.
- Borrowers are responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the material.
Confidentiality of Borrower:
The confidentiality of circulation records is upheld.
Renewals:
General circulation materials may be renewed on-line, in person, by phone, fax or e-mail request.
Loan Periods:
| 1 day: | Equipment (due 1 day from the date charged). |
| 3 days: | Videocassettes, slides and records (due 3 days from the date charged). |
| 7 days: | Audio and music sound recording (due 7 days from the date charged). |
| 10 days: | Telecourse tapes (due 10 days from the date charged). |
| 28 days: | General circulation materials (due 28 days from the date charged). |
| 120 days: | General circulation materials for faculty and staff (due 120 days from the date charged). |
| Overnight: | Materials charged overnight (due 1 hour after opening the next day). |
Overdue Fines:
| Books and periodicals | $1.00 per item ($1.00 maximum) |
| Reference books | $5.00 per item (5.00 maximum) |
| Audio sound recording | $1.00 per day ($10.00 maximum) |
| Music sound recording | $1.00 per day ($10.00 maximum) |
| Videocassettes | $2.00 per day ($12.00 maximum) |
| Telecourse tapes | $2.00 per day ($12.00 maximum) |
| Slides | $1.00 per day ($12.00 maximum) |
| Reserve materials | $1.00 per hour ($40.00 maximum) |
Lost or damaged items:
All items overdue 60 days are considered lost

All fines must be paid in full to register, receive grades or transcripts. Bills for library charges are issued by and paid in the Cashier's Office. No payments are accepted in the Library.
