The Southwest Libraries agree to make their materials available to other libraries. The conditions of this service are based on the American Library Association National Interlibrary Loan Code, 1994.
Requests may be made through the OCLC, the Libraries' world wide web site, fax, e-mail, mail or telephone. Individuals must request ILL service through their local library.
The types of materials commonly loaned are circulating books: photocopies of periodical articles, reference or reserve materials may be faxed or mailed. Books are loaned for four weeks. Renewals are allowed only under special circumstances.
Types of materials not loaned are video and audio tapes (including telecourse tapes), CDs, microfilm or microfiche, a complete volume or issue of a periodical, rare and valuable books, books difficult or expensive to mail, reference or reserve material, and recent acquisitions.
There is no charge for this service.
An overdue notice will be sent to the borrowing library one week after the item has become overdue. The fine will be $1.00 per item. According to the STCC circulation policy, overdue items become lost sixty days after the due date. The borrowing library will be sent a bill for the item: the price of the item plus a $10.00 processing fee.
All items will be shipped at the library rate via the U.S. Postal Service.
