The purpose of the reserve collection is to insure that print and non-print materials are available for a course or specific assignments as needed. The reserve collection may consist of textbooks, supplemental reading material, media, journal articles, etc. Electronic reserves will provide access to select items 24 hours a day. The library cannot offer same day or rush requests for placing items on reserve.
Reserve Collection - A separate collection of materials selected by faculty members. The collection functions as a non-circulating collection, unless otherwise specified.
Reserve Hold - Library will hold on reserve certain items for a user as soon as the item is returned to the library. A library user will make request via PAC. Upon return of material user will be contacted. Material will be held for three days. If it has not been called for by the end of that time, the material will be returned to the stacks.
The Library cannot photocopy articles for placement on reserve. "Fair use" will be observed in the photocopying of copyrighted material for reserve. This means one copy of an article, a chapter of a book, a short story or poem, a map, or chart. The library will take all steps deemed necessary to ensure that materials placed on electronic reserve meet the fair use guidelines of the copyright law. The library will continue to examine the current interpretations of the copyright law and will make changes in its policies as necessary.
