Withdrawal Policy

To ensure library materials are current, in good condition and organized for easy accessibility, the collection will be systematically reviewed and items withdrawn on a regular basis. Withdrawn materials are lost, missing, heavily damaged or deselected items whose electronic records will be deleted.

Materials in all formats are declared withdrawn from Southwest when they:

Contain obsolete content
Duplicates no longer in high demand
Materials with superceded editions
Damaged as to be unusable
Lost or missing from the collection, either because they have been lost by a borrower or missing from the shelves for a period of (1) year
Discarded as part of a collection management program
