The Millington Center, Navy College facility is located on the Naval Support Activity Mid-South (Navy base). To gain access individuals must possess a valid military or current base identification (ID) badge and vehicle decal.

Note: Base access is only required for classes held in the Navy College onboard the Navy base. Rooms in Navy College are identified with the prefix "NSA," NSA 109, for example. Rooms with the prefix "MILL," MILL 114, for example, are in the Millington Center off base at 6500 Navy Road, in the University of Memphis Center.

In order to teach or attend courses on the Navy base all instructors and students must obtain an ID badge and vehicle pass unless otherwise authorized to enter the base. The badge and pass are issued for the registered semester and must be renewed each semester.

The Process

Register for Southwest course(s).
Complete Form 5530/7 and return to the Millington Center staff by e-mail or fax at least two weeks prior to the start of each semester.
The Millington Center staff will submit the completed Form 5530/7 and additional paperwork to the appropriate base authorities. This process normally takes about a week. Be advised, NCIS will run a simple background check to verify no outstanding warrants or security risk issues. Once approved, the name will be added to the Base Access list.

Prior to the first day of class

Enter the base through the Wasp Ave gate, off Navy Road, and proceed to the Pass and ID Building, located to the right of the gate, to obtain a base pass and ID badge. The documents indicated below will be required to obtain a pass and badge and must be maintained in the vehicle at all times while on base.

valid driver license
current vehicle registration
current proof of insurance

Note: If the name on the vehicle registration and proof of insurance is different than the driver licenses a notarized letter of permission must be provided. The letter must include:

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
vehicle make
vehicle model
vehicle color
relationship to the vehicle owner
semester dates

Base passes and ID badges not picked up prior to the first day of class will hinder base access. This will also result in your name being removed from the Base Access list and making any future access difficult.

Monday - Friday	7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
First Saturday of Each Month	8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sundays and Holidays	Closed
Note: We recommend arriving prior to 3 p.m. Workers are not authorized overtime, and will shut the doors early so that the last person will be finished by 4 p.m.

Occasionally the Pass and ID Office will open on additional Saturdays, you can contact Southwest's Navy College Office at (901) 333-4851 to check.

The base pass and ID badge allows entrance at the Singleton or Willis gate. The ID badge is valid for entrance to the Navy College building. No other facilities may be visited.
