General Education - Southwest Tennessee Community College academic programs seek to develop the whole person. In support of this philosophy, all general education courses are designed to improve student learning by focusing on four common student outcomes, developing specific competencies, and improving both instruction and student outcomes performance through continuous assessment.

Developmental Studies -The Developmental Studies Department offers basic and developmental courses that prepare students for college-level course work.
