First Horizon Foundation Business and Commerce Endowed Scholarship

Southwest scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds and may not be awarded every year.

A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is required for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest including scholarships. You must complete a FAFSA application even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.

First Horizon Foundation Business and Commerce Endowed Scholarship

Full-tuition scholarship(s) for the academic year are available. The scholarship(s) may be renewed for a second academic year. 

Criteria

  1. The student must be a Business and Legal Studies Major focusing on Banking and Finance, Business or Economics--Banking and Finance preferred.
  2. Entering Freshmen or Returning Adult Students may apply
  3. May be enrolled full-time or part-time 
  4. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 for award and to maintain award in first academic year
  5. Award may be renewed for a second academic year if recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA 
  6. Strong desire to succeed.
  7. Completed essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship 
  8. Applicant must have received a high school diploma or a GED to be eligible. 
  9. A potential internship will may accompany this scholarship. 

Procedure

Submit application (opens new window) to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Financial Aid Office by March 15.

Selection Process

Southwest Tennessee Community College Scholarship Committee will narrow the field of applicants to three, whose applications are forwarded to the First Horizon Foundation Endowed Scholarship Selection Committee for final selection.
