ParaPro/Praxis Assessment Examination
As an alternative way of meeting the highly qualified requirements of the "No Child Left Behind" legislation, the ParaPro/Praxis Assessment was developed. Beginning January 2002, the law requires paraprofessionals to have one of the following:
- An Associate of Arts Degree
- Two years of college
- Demonstrated knowledge of ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and math (ParaPro Assessment).
The ParaPro/Praxis Assessment paper-pencil examination cost $40 and takes approximately two and a half (2 ½) hours to complete. You must obtain a registration booklet from the Testing Center or online at Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro Assessment website and mail your registration packet to ETS before the regular registration closing date. Southwest's Testing Center code is 18613. To order a full-length practice test call toll-free 1-800-537-3161 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time) or order online throught the ETS Store.
