Class/Event Descriptions
Total Body Fusion is a full body workout that blends various cardio respiratory fitness formats such as kickboxing and/or step aerobics, with resistance training and abdominal exercises. Total Body Fusion offers an effective workout for most fitness levels without taking unnecessary risks that may cause or exasperate back pain and/or knee problems. Modifications for the beginner as well as modifications for the advanced exerciser who wants an extra push are incorporated throughout the workout. Modifications are also made for those who enjoy exercise, but have sustained an injury. There is something for everyone in the Total Body Fusion class. If you would like to improve your fitness level and have fun throughout the workout, Total Body Fusion is the class for you!
Yoga/Pilates offers a combination of Hatha Yoga poses that are known for improving flexibility and many internal functions of the body, and Pilates exercises that will help you improve core strength while flattening your abdominal area. You will enjoy multiple benefits of both worlds including: reduced stress and tension, easier breathing, a firmer abdomen, improved posture, improved muscular strength, improved balance, and stronger leg muscles-which will minimize the risk of back problems.
Yoga, a 50 minute class that combines Hatha yoga and Vinyasa yoga to leaving you feeling relaxed and more present. By combing the two styles you will learn the alignment of poses, as well as pranyama or breathe control. All levels welcome. Classes are taught by RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and University of Memphis and Southwest Tennessee Community College Physical Education Instructor, Mrs. Vicki Allen.
