Southwest’s music department will host a musical fundraising fanfare, Horns & Voices, on March 8 at 6 PM in the Farris Auditorium on the Macon Cove Campus. The event celebrates the rich tradition and heritage of Memphis music. Be prepared to sample of variety of genres with local musicians and singers that include: Vocalists Valetta Brinson and LaShawn Pender, guitarist David Collins, trombonist Andrew Earle, trumpeter Johnnie Yancey, tenor saxophonist Charles Pender Jr., keyboardist Charles Pender Sr., alto saxophonist Gary Buss, acoustic and electric bass player Kent Suggs, and percussionist Reginald Taber.
