One of the ways faculty members can enrich the curriculum in their content area is to become involved in various professional development opportunities says Technology Enhanced Learning Coordinator Dr. Christine Rodgers. “Using online Facebook groups is an easy way to connect with other faculty across that nation,” Rodgers said.
High Impact Practices and Innovation or HIPI recently launched the Technology Enhanced Learning at Southwest Tennessee Community College Facebook Group as a resource for technology faculty and adjunct instructors at Southwest. “The group will feature numerous posts a week in all areas of studies and content,” Rodgers said. “I encourage all faculty join the group and let me know how best I can help you.”
Posts range from such topics as music and video presentations, virtual museum and national park tours, using journals as primary resources and Kennedy Space Center science lessons to stress baking and other stress reduction tips and much more!
Join the Southwest Technology Enhanced Learning Group here. You must be a member of Facebook to join. Rodgers also recommends the following Facebook groups help faculty stay engaged by sharing and accessing great content:
