Southwest closes select spaces on Macon Cove Campus for sanitation; Reopen Oct. 29

Southwest has closed Room A-213 and the elevator in the lobby of Academic Building A on the Macon Cove Campus, along with Suite 103 in the Freeman Building, for sanitation in accordance with safety guidelines outlined in the Back to Campus PlanThe spaces reopen Thursday, Oct. 29. Students should contact their instructors for instructions regarding alternate class meeting locations.

The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected areas in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for covid-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information is kept strictly confidential.
