"I am writing to share a brief reflection on my journey as a proud graduate of State Tech, Class of 1995, and to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible experiences that have shaped my career and personal growth.

When I first walked through the doors of State Tech, I could not have imagined the profound impact this institution would have on my life. As a work-study student and part-time adjunct, I had the opportunity to witness and contribute to the academic environment from multiple perspectives. From my early days as an office administration student to becoming a part-time secretary and later an adjunct faculty member, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of education and its positive influence on individuals and communities.

It is an honor to be both an alum and a faculty member of such a great institution, a place where I have spent over 25 years of my life. As a professor in the same area I graduated from, I am incredibly fortunate to help shape the next generation of students in the field I am passionate about. The lessons I learned as a student continue to guide my work with students today. I strive to provide them with the same support, encouragement, and knowledge I received during my time at State Tech.

As a part-time adjunct and faculty member, I have always valued the relationships I’ve built with students and colleagues. The sense of community here and the college’s commitment to excellence and hands-on experience have allowed me to thrive in my career and continuously grow as an educator. Every day I step into the classroom, I feel a deep sense of pride, knowing that I am contributing to the same institution that provided me with the foundation for my success.

It is hard to believe that so much time has passed, but I continue to cherish the memories and experiences I’ve gained here, both as a student and a faculty member. I look forward to many more years of teaching, learning, and contributing to Southwest’s continued success.

Thank you for being a part of my journey and for all you do to support the alum community. I am incredibly proud to be an alumnus of this great institution, and I remain committed to doing everything I can to give back to the college that helped me become the person I am today."
