The Campus Activity Board (CAB) provides diverse quality programs that will enhance the student's educational experience via on-campus entertainment, cultural and arts events, student organizations and clubs, and discounted tickets to sports, arts and cultural events in the Memphis Community.
At Southwest, each student taking credit courses is required to pay a student activity fee. The function of the student activity fee is to provide financial support for events and programs at Southwest and facilitate the enhancement of campus life at the college.
As a result, a portion of that fee goes to CAB. The board members of CAB consider proposed events and vote to either approve or disapprove each event and its funding. At the end of each academic year, student activities will be responsible for an annual report reflecting funding distribution outcomes along with recommendations from CAB.
Budget
The breakdown is:
- 57 percent campus-wide programming administered by Campus Activity Board (CAB)
