Harassment Training

Southwest has partnered with New Media Learning, LLC to provide a convenient online training program for employees to complete their mandatory sexual harassment training and ensure Southwest maintains an environment free from harassment, discrimination and intimidation.

The program is designed to train employees to identify prohibited, harassing behaviors whether those behaviors are of a sexual nature, or based on race, color, religion, age, national origin or disability. The program begins with a "pretest" to evaluate users' current understanding of harassment issues and concludes with a 15-question mastery test to evaluate knowledge gained throughout the course.

If your score is lower than 80, five (5) or more incorrect answers, please retake the test.

If you achieve a score of 80 or higher, four (4) incorrect answers, fill out your name and your department's name in the appropriate screen and submit it. You will be prompted to print a certificate of completion.

Note: If you have a pop-up blocker, please disable it so you can print the certificate.

Keep the certificate for your records, and submit a copy of it to the Human Resources office. The certificate will be placed in your personnel file.  After the course is completed, the program will send an email to the Human Resources office with the employee's name, date of completion, a comparison will be made with the certificate that the employee submits.

Faculty and staff of Southwest Community College are required to complete Harassment and Title VI training on an annual basis. In an effort to meet this requirement and as part of Southwest’s ongoing compliance efforts, Southwest has partnered with Campus Answers to provide online training. You are required to complete two courses: Unlawful Harassment Prevention and Title VI for Tennessee Faculty and Staff.

The first course may take up to an hour to complete. However, the Title VI for Tennessee Faculty and Staff should take approximately thirty minutes to complete. These courses are interactive and contain many challenging and interesting real life situations. You will have 30 days to complete both courses.

The courses can be taken on any computer with access to the internet through the my.southwest student portal.

  1. Log into My.Southwest at https://my.southwest.tn.edu
  2. Click on the Compliance icon in Quick Launch

Also use this portal to resume the courses, or to review material at a later date. You don’t need to complete all of the training in one sitting. If you need to return to the training, the program will bring you back to where you last were in the courses.
