Early Childhood Education
The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education degree program is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This accreditation requires the faculty and staff to participate in a two year self-study, evaluate annually the degree program, gather data regarding course content and course outcomes, and review data related to student outcomes, graduation and job placement. You may review some of the graduation and employment data related to the AAS program. Other data about the AAS in Early Childhood Education can be found on the Southwest Institutional Research website under the Academic Program Profiles.
The mission of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department is to offer college credit courses in the social/behavioral sciences and humanities that support the general education outcomes, career and transfer programs, and that further enhance students' social and cultural development in the context of a global society.
