Southwest Tennessee Community College Receives $100,000 Grant from the City of Memphis Division of Housing and Community Development

Southwest Tennessee Community College is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Division of Housing and Community Development for the City of Memphis through its Neighborhood Development Grant program.

The purpose of the grant is to improve services to entrepreneurs and small business owners, which nurture economic growth and business development opportunities.

Southwest will offer a full range of programs and workshops/classes seminars that will address all stages of business ownership and will create economic growth and business development opportunities for the small business community through training programs and comprehensive consulting services.

The college will provide training to start-up and existing business owners on relevant business topics, one-on-one counseling, educational training in management and other business areas, and business information to small businesses through its vast network of resources. Southwest is also seeking to work more with gazelle (fast start-up) businesses or businesses with revenue of two to five million dollars.
