Southwest Launches Adult Academic Degree Programs

In response to President Barack Obama's "Building American Skills Through Community Colleges" initiative and both national and local focus on the correlation between a college degree and economic growth, Southwest Tennessee Community College is making available for adult-student learners an 18-month Associate Degree program in selected areas of study:

Associate of Applied Science Degree

  • Accountancy
  • Business and Commerce, Logistics/Transportation
    • Management Concentration
  • Office Technology
    • General Administrative Assistant Concentration
  • Information Technology
    • Networking Technologies Concentration

Associate of Arts Degree

  • Tennessee Transfer Pathway
    • Criminal Justice Emphasis
    • Economic Emphasis

Associate of Science

  • Teaching
  • University Parallel

Students would attend classes on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings and afternoons. All classes will be taught at the Maxine A. Smith Center or the Macon Cove Campus.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.

*Individuals who require any developmental prerequisite courses may take longer than 18 months to complete.
