Former Head Coach of the Memphis Grizzlies Will Address the 2014 Graduating Class of Southwest Tennessee Community College

Lionel Hollins will deliver the commencement address to Southwest Tennessee Community College's Class of 2014 on May 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Landers Center in Southaven, MS.

Hollins is a 22-year NBA coaching veteran and an original member of the Vancouver franchise and was a staple on the coaching sidelines for 10 of its first 12 seasons. Hollins owns an overall career coaching record of 158-175, including two stints as Grizzlies interim head coach.

Hollins has been inducted into the Halls of Fame of the NCAA, Arizona State University, Nevada High School Basketball, Southern Nevada Sports and the Pac-10. In addition, he has been named one of the Top 100 athletes of Nevada and one of the top 150 athletes of Arizona. His No. 14 jersey is retired by the Trail Blazers and his No. 33 jersey was raised to the rafters by Arizona State on Feb. 17, 2011.

Hollins, who lives in Memphis, has been extremely active in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Grizzlies Foundation and regularly leads Community Investment programs. Additionally, in conjunction with Lionel Hollins Charities, he has established the annual Bowling for Backpacks event, which has raised thousands of dollars to purchase school supplies and uniforms for underprivileged youth since its inception in 2003, and the Role Models Dinner, which includes a fine dining experience and a connection with mentors who volunteer for one year at their school.

The Las Vegas native graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hollins received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Dixie Jr College in St George, Utah and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona.
