Southwest Men's Basketball Team Ranked 10th in NJCAA Poll

The Southwest men's basketball team, currently 8-1 on the season, is ranked 10th in this week's NJCAA Division 1 Basketball Poll.

The Saluqis, under the direction of Head Coach Jerry Nichols, are led by sophomore guard Johnathan Burroughs-Cook, a former Ridgeway High standout and College of Charleston transfer who leads the team with a 15.0 scoring average, and sophomore forward Rasheed Brooks, an Ole Miss signee who averages 13.4 points and 3.3 assists per game.

Other top performers, so far this season, for Southwest are freshman forward Jimario Rivers (12.4 points per game, team-leading 7.6 rebounds per game), sophomore guard Earl Bryant (10.8 points per game, team-leading 3.7 assists per game), freshman forward Jalen McGaughy (9.7 points per game), sophomore guard DeAndre McKinnie (9.7 points per game) and sophomore forward Lavontae Waldon (7.2 points per game).
