Southwest Tennessee Community College will host a community health and carnival day on March 30. This event will bring awareness to students and the community about living healthier lifestyles and introduce the community to local businesses. The event will provide free health screenings, games, giveaways, free food and fun.

Students and faculty representing the Southwest Nursing Program will be on hand for blood pressure testing. Medical provider representatives from West Cancer Clinic, Methodist Mobile Mammography, Church Health, Men’s Health Network and others will be on hand providing services. Other community organizations will also attend: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Friends 4 Life, Memphis Crisis Intervention, Youth Leadership Initiative and more. Southwest Police Services representatives will be providing information on DUI and drug awareness.

The event will be held at the Maxine A. Smith Center located at 8800 E. Shelby Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 901-333-6005.
