Education Over Poverty Golf Tournament

Serra Chevrolet Bartlett and Education Over Poverty are teaming up to host the second Annual Golf Outing to benefit the Southwest Tennessee Community College Foundation. The event will be held on June 2, 2017 at the Memphis National Golf Club.

Here in Memphis, 47 percent of the city's 163,000-plus children were living in poverty last year. Of the city's residents without diplomas, 40.4 percent were below the poverty line, according to the Education Over Poverty Foundation. Their mission is to provide opportunities for motivated children in urban settings to break the bonds of systemic generational poverty by awarding scholarships for higher education.

Proceeds from the Golf Outing will help fund scholarships for Southwest students.
