Tabitha Appleberry is the Associate Director for the Academic Support Center, overseeing the Union Avenue Campus and the Gill and Whitehaven Centers. She has been an employee of Southwest since 2016 and is a proud alumna of the institution. She has over 25 years of educational experience in and out of the classroom. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis, obtained two master’s degrees, which include a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University and an M.A. in Education from University of Phoenix. Ms. Appleberry brings a wealth of experience and expertise to help students succeed at Southwest.

Thomas Cole is the Director of the Academic Support Center. He joined Southwest in 2015. He possesses over a decade of experience in tutoring academic and professional forms of writing; he also has taught undergraduate composition and literature for fifteen years. He graduated from Rhodes College with a B.A. in English and German. At the University of Florida, he earned both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in English as well as a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies. Dr. Cole is dedicated to student success.

Kenneth Foster is a laboratory technician and College Reading & Learning Association certified Master Tutor for the ASC in the fields of Chemistry, Math, and Physics.

Jacqueline Larry

Jacqueline Larry is the Supplemental Instruction Coordinator for the Academic Support Center serving the Macon and Union Avenue Campuses and the Maxine A. Smith and Whitehaven Centers. She has been at Southwest since 2018 and has over 23 years of experience in higher education and is an adjunct instructor at Southwest. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University and a B.S. in Theology from Oval Bible College. She earned a M.A. in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and a M.A. in Rural Public Policy Nonprofit from Mississippi Valley State University. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Walden University with a focus in Public Administration, Management & Leadership Nonprofit. Ms. Larry is responsible for advancing the SI program to help students in historically difficult courses achieve academic success.
